Door and window locks
Locks provide security and functionality to systems. In the aluminum industry, the term “key” is mainly used for sliding doors and systems. In the two-position opening and lift&slide system, “Keys” are known as “mechanisms”.
In the case of entry doors and simple sliding systems, multiple lock options can be used, depending on the level of security and usability required by the user.
Regarding security
The number of locking points is an important safety factor. Single locking points and multiple locking points (up to 5 for doors and 4 for simple sliding) as a security extension solution are available in the Alumil range.
Mechanisms can also have different types of closures, ranging from hooks to latches and pins. .
Regarding functionality:
Roller mechanisms can be used for easy access from the outside without the need for a key. Swing Lock doors can be pushed open and are commonly found in commercial applications. Accordingly, for internal applications, key locks are used to allow access only to key users.
Automatic mechanisms can be installed to ensure the door closes when closed without the need to turn the key.
Further, automatic mechanisms can be adapted to open and close the door leaf with the use of a button or panel. This can be very useful for applications in areas for users with disabilities.

Hinges of doors and windows
Hinges are a distinctive part of all opening systems. Depending on the requirements, hinges can have different characteristics, the main of which is their load capacity:
Menteshatt can be either visible in the system or hidden as a more refined solution. In case of visible hinges, their design and color complement the appearance of the system. Usually the hinges have a cylindrical shape and are available in the most popular powder coating and anodizing colors.
Depending on the application, hinges meet different technical requirements and can be found under different names:
In design windows, hinges are called “stable arms”
In pivot windows they are called “pivot hinges”
In bi-folding doors, “rotating hinges” are used, as a combination of rollers and hinges.
Finally, they can be screwed or clamped according to their installation on windows or doors
Last but not least, a key feature is their durability and corrosion resistance certification. Alumil hinges are fully certified at all levels.
Door handles and windows
The handles are the only point of contact with the aluminum system. The handle gives life to the rest of the system’s accessories, which ensure its functionality. Thus, the Handle is a very important part of the system. The main features of the handle are:
Their types. According to the application, the handles are divided into window, door and lift & slide types. Moreover, the above types can be divided into sub-groups with discrete characteristics.
The security they provide. Gloves can increase system security in 2 different ways. The first is to equip the handle with a key, with which not only the internal use of the system can be controlled, but also increases the protection against theft. The second way is the Sekustitk anti-theft mechanism, which does not allow external operation of the Lock. The Alumil range contains both solutions.
Their aesthetics. Alumil primarily uses Alumil designed gloves that complement any Alumil system. The handles are available in all popular colors with powder coating and anodizing. Also, special colors are available upon request.

Window and door mechanisms
Anti-ballot opening mechanisms are characterized by the following points:
Their material and their design of operation. Therefore, there are two basic types, the aluminum mechanism, which consists of metal parts connected by a rod, and the steel mechanism, which consists of metal parts connected to each other without the use of additional parts.
Number of closing points. Both mechanisms can have multiple perimeter belt locking points, according to security requirements.
Type of treatment. Range Alumil Mechanisms are always equipped with Alumil handles.
The weight of the cane. When there are large openings, and/or heavy glass panels, a heavy duty mechanism must be used. However, in most cases the standard mechanisms may be sufficient.
Aesthetics of hinges. Mechanism hinges can be visible or hidden and painted in different colors.
The opening angle of the qanat. The opening angle may vary depending on the technical characteristics of each mechanism. Therefore, there are mechanisms that allow the kanat to open up to 100 degrees while others up to 180 degrees. The maximum dimensions of the kanat that it can support.
Their certificates against durability and resistance to corrosion. The range of Alumil Mechanisms are certified at all levels.
The lift & slide system mechanisms are characterized by the following points:
The weight their rollers can support. Alumil has 2 mechanisms. The standard mechanism is adequate for the weight of the rope up to 200 kg and the heavy one up to 400 kg.
Number of closing points. Both mechanisms described above have 2 locking points and an additional one to add security, if required.
Alumil lifting & sliding mechanisms provide very quiet and smooth performance even for very large and heavy baskets, while the closing operation is safe even for small children.
